Sunflower Photoshoot | Liberty Ridge Farm | The Wheeler Family
This session may just look like any other sunflower session, but the truth is, Kait and I had to work together closely in the months prior in order to make this happen.

The sunflower crop this year was a bit unpredictable since it’s been so rainy, and we had to move our session date due to the crop not being ready yet. But we chose another weekend and powered through!
Then, our original venue has a no dog policy, but Kait’s pup, Quinn, is ten years old, and she wanted to make sure we included him. Our venue agreed to make an exception for us, so we were booked and all set for months. Then, five days before the session, they changed their minds and canceled.
I was so disappointed, and a bit stunned. I had promised this client that she would get the sunflower session of her dreams, and I was determined to make it happen for her. Our new date was non-negotiable, as they were unavailable for other weekends. So we quickly assessed other venue options, and were SO thrilled when we found Liberty Ridge Farm, who happened to be hosting the last day of their Sunflower Festival!
If you haven’t been, it’s such a gorgeous place, with so many activities for the kiddos, a gorgeous sunflower field, a zinnia field, a trolley ride, games, food and drinks, and so much more. I can’t wait to take my own kiddos back in a few weeks! Thank you so much to Liberty Ridge Farm for making our dreams come true for this sunflower session!
While it may have seemed easier for all of us to just cancel the session after so many roadblocks, it was a great reminder that when you book a session with me, I’ll do everything I can to make your hopes come true. Through the booking process, I stay in close touch to make sure we have all details nailed down, and I do a weather check-in the week before your session. If it’s looking unfavorable for any reason, we will talk it through and reschedule if you prefer. Or, if like this family, your date can’t be rescheduled, I come bearing clear umbrellas, ready for whatever the weather throws at us!
